Banga Bazar Fire: Mass Solidarity Demands Compensation

The Chief Coordinator of Ganasamhati Movement Junaid Saki and Executive Coordinator Abul Hasan Rubel claimed that due to failure to find the exact cause of past fires and take remedial measures, fires have become a regular issue in various factories, markets, and buildings.

They said that the culprits of the Banga Bazar fire should be identified and brought to justice because their negligence and mismanagement caused this horrible incident. Adequate compensation and rehabilitation should be provided immediately to the victims.

They said these things in a press release on Tuesday (April 4) night.

The top two leaders of the party said that due to the terrible fire in Banga Bazar, almost all the shops and other buildings in the vicinity have also suffered extensive damage. The devastating loss and uncertain future faced by hundreds of thousands of shop owners and employees in the ravages of the fire is heartbreaking. The exact cause of the fire must be investigated as soon as possible.

"They said, about 3 thousand shops in Banga Bazar, Mohanagar Market, Adarsha Market, and Gulistan Market, and other markets and buildings located in the vicinity were damaged. Thousands of small traders and shopkeepers were instantly destitute. Government should take responsibility for 10-12 thousand shopkeepers who lost their jobs before Eid.
