Accused of raping a five-year-old child in Cox's Bazar, youth arrested

 

Five-year-old girl accused of rape in Cox's Bazar; A young man has been arrested by the police on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

At 12:30 on Sunday, SI Md. of Cox's Bazar Sadar police station. Nurul Abchar said the incident took place in Cox's Bazar city on Saturday afternoon. Locals informed the police after arresting a young man for his involvement in the incident at night. The police reached the spot and brought the youth to the police station.

The arrested 18-year-old youth is a student of a madrasa in Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila. The victim's girlchild is his neighbor.

The SI said, “Earlier on Saturday evening, the victim's child's condition deteriorated and his relatives brought him to Sadar Hospital in Cox's Bazar district. The child is admitted to the OCC department there.”

The child's father said that his wife went to work at a relative's house on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, her daughter was taken home by a young man studying at a neighboring madrasa. Later, in the absence of her parents at home, the youth raped the girl.

“A woman named Monwara Begum was staying in the neighbor's house of the accused youth at the time of the incident. At that time, after hearing the screams of a girl child in the next room, when he became suspicious, Manwara peeped through the fence gap and saw the rape incident.

The child's father added, “At one point my wife returned home and started calling her daughter. Then the girl screamed after hearing her mother's call. Meanwhile, the accused youth tried to run away from the scene.

“Later the locals chased him and arrested him. After that, my daughter was rescued and admitted to Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital.

“The arrested youth has confessed his involvement in the incident to the police. He has given the information to the police that he tried to rape my daughter 2/3 times before."

Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital Resident Medical Officer (RMO) MD. Ashiqur Rahman said a girl child who was raped was brought to the hospital on Saturday evening. He was admitted to the hospital's One Stop Crisis Center.

The child's physical condition is stable. RMO said that the truth of the incident can be confirmed after receiving the medical report of his physical examination.

SI Nurul Abchar said that the victim girl's father filed a statement at the police station on Sunday morning accusing one person. After the preliminary investigation, the case will be registered.
