According to the police, the bicycles were recovered in a raid based on the complaint of a person.
Police arrested two members of a gang of thieves along with 40 bicycles after raiding a house in Kurigram.
Kurigram Sadar Police OC Khan Mohammad Shahriar said that the bikes were recovered from a house in Akota para of Sadar Thana Municipal area on Sunday night.
The arrested are- Safiqul Islam (29) son of Noor Islam of Bepari Para village of Velakopa area and Kafshar Ali (60) of Showdagor Para village.
The OC said that on September 23, a person's bicycle was stolen from in front of Eidgah ground in Kurigram municipality. Later the person complained to the police station.
After the complaint, the police conducted a raid and arrested Safiqul first. Later, on the information given him, 40 bicycles were recovered from Kafshar Ali's house, including the stolen bicycle of that person. At this time Kafshar Ali was arrested by the police.
The arrested have been kept in the police station and they will be sent to jail on Monday, said the police official.
