The 'Gha' unit will be in force at Dhaka University this year

In the academic year 2021-2022, the admission test for the 1st year undergraduate (honors) students will be held in the existing 5 units as before. The 'Gha' unit will remain in force. The admission process will be effective from the 2022-23 academic year in light of the newly reorganized unit.


The matter was confirmed in a written notification issued by the public relations department of the university on Wednesday evening. A special meeting of the General Admissions Committee was held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Bhaban in the afternoon in light of the recommendations of the special meeting of the Deans Committee held in the morning. The meeting decided to hold an admission test in these 5 units 'Ka, Kha, Ga, Gha, and Ca' in the academic year 2021-2022.

It is to be noted that in the light of the decision of the special meeting of the General Admission Committee on 7th February, the admission test for the 1st year undergraduate (honors) class from 2022-2023 academic year will be held through 4 reorganized units. The reorganized units for the admission test are  Arts, Law, and Social Sciences Units; Science unit Business Education Unit and Fine Arts Unit.

The notification further said that in the academic year 2022-23, the students admitted in the Science and Business Studies unit will have the opportunity to participate in the admission test in the 'Arts, Law and Social Sciences' unit for the change of department/unit. In addition, students in the humanities will be able to appear for the entrance examination in the 'Arts, Law and Social Sciences' unit along with the Admission Test in Mathematics / Statistics or Economics / Accounting Science or any of the prerequisites.

Dhaka University's Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. The meeting was chaired by Akhtaruzzaman. Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Muhammad Samad, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) A. S. M. .Maksud Kamal, Treasurer Professor Momtazuddin Ahmed, Deans of different faculties, Chairmen of different departments, and directors of different institutes were present.
