A 22-year-old girl was allegedly beaten and raped by some miscreants in the Mir Aulia Shah Mazar area of Akbar Shah Police Station in Chittagong city. The incident took place around noon on Saturday (May 7).



Police said the young woman came to Chittagong from Cumilla's Debidwar angry with her mother. The girl has been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, said Zahir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Akbar Shah Police Station.

He said a young woman was lying unconscious in the Mir Aulia Shah Mazar area and police went to the spot after receiving information from the locals. He was rescued and taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. He was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
The OC said that according to the young woman, some young men first brought her to the spot and beat her. The girl later alleged that he had been raped. We are trying to find out the details by talking to the young lady. The young woman has not yet fully recovered. Those involved in this incident will be brought under the law. However, talking to the young woman made him feel scared.

According to police sources, the girl came to the Akbar Shah Police Station area of Chittagong on Saturday after getting angry with her mother from Cumilla's Debidwar house. At this time two or three young men were introduced. At one point, a young man took the girl to a secluded place in the hills next to the shrine, saying that he would take her to his mother. There he was beaten by three young men. Later, when the physical abuse started, the young woman lost consciousness.
