Kabiraj was hacked to death for not working on amulets

Woman Kabiraj Fatema Begum (43) was hacked to death at Shilkup in Chittagong's Banshkhali upazila.

The young man who came to take treatment (dab reading) said. It is alleged that Eheshan committed the murder.

The incident took place at Mostaq Ahmed's house west of Timebazar in Shilkoop Union of Banshkhali on Monday morning.

3 more people were injured in this incident. Banshkhali police have arrested Eheshan (24).

The seriously injured are Fatima's daughter Pakhi Akhter (22) and Brishti (10) and a woman named Rabia Begum (35).

According to Banshkhali police and the family of the injured, Fatema Begum, wife of Mostaq Ahmed, visited Hazira (Kabiraj) west of Timebazar in Shilkup Union of Banshkhali. Eheshan took an amulet from Fatima to get his girlfriend. Not getting the result, he came to read the dab.

Eheshan asked Fatima to 'get dabbed' to get the girl he loves. When Fatema refused, she immediately became enraged and hacked him to death with a used photo. He was taken out of the house and injured in the neck, back and head. Fatima's daughter Pakhi Akhter, Brishti and Rabia Begum were stabbed and injured when they tried to stop them.

The locals rescued them and rushed them to Banshkhali Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries on the way to Chamek Hospital.

Banshkhali Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Safiul Kabir said the body had been sent for autopsy. The youth involved in the incident has been arrested. He said the case is under process
