Alamgir Mallick, a resident of Mashura village in Naria, is in the same predicament as Mansa. He returned from Saudi Arabia on January 16 after 20 years. .When Mallick went to Saudi Arabia, there was no national identity card in the country. On February 17, he went to Naria Upazila Health Complex to get vaccinated. But he could not register the vaccine as he did not have a national identity card. .He claimed to Prothom Alo that more than one and a half lakh people of Shariatpur live in different countries of the world. Being out of the country for a long time, he could not get the national identity card. Now, even after returning to the country, he is not able to get a national identity card for various reasons. His question is, why can't they get vaccinated?

According to the health department, in the first phase, 36,000 vaccinations are being given in Shariatpur. As of Tuesday, 11,573 people have been vaccinated. Vaccination centers have been set up at Shariatpur Sadar Hospital, five Upazila Health Complexes, and District Police Hospital. And to help the general public register, registration booths have been set up at each Union Digital Center.

Shariatpur District Election Officer Mohammad Zahid Hossain said, "Many expatriates are contacting us to get national identity cards. However, we do not have any statistics on the number of them. The process of issuing new identity cards will start next March.

In this situation, the deputy commissioner of Shariatpur said that there is some hope for the expatriates who are in trouble to get vaccinated. Parvez Hasan.
