Saudi Arabia in the Middle East has declared a holiday on Eid al-Fitr. The country's government has announced that all public and private institutions will be closed from Monday, April 8 to Thursday, April 11 on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. Since Saudi Arabia is closed on Fridays and Saturdays, April 12 and 13 are also holidays. As a result, people of the country are going to get six consecutive days of holiday this Eid.
The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development confirmed the holiday on Sunday (March 28).
Eid al-Fitr is celebrated after the end of Ramadan. While English months are 30 and 31 days long, Arabic months are usually 29 and 30 days long. This year the Saudi holy month of Ramadan began on March 11. If Ramadan is 30 days then there will be Eid on 10th April. And if it is 29 days, Eid will be on April 9.
