The market is full of browsers: Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, and more. Yet Brave keeps growing in popularity. As of its 3 November 2026 update, Brave has over 130 million monthly users, and Brave Search handles over 2.7 billion queries every month. The growth is steady. In September 2025 Brave had 101 million users, and by August 2026 it was at 126.25 million. So why are people choosing Brave?
Privacy and Speed
Brave's biggest draw is its "Shields" feature. By default, it blocks ads, trackers, and fingerprinting. Advertisers cannot follow which sites you visit or what you search for. Because extra scripts and ads never load, pages open faster, and on mobile you use less data and battery. Brave is built on the Chromium engine, so Chrome extensions work in it too.
