Debut film Birotto, directed by Saidul Islam Rana, is set to be released in cinemas across the country on Friday, September 16. Actor Mamnun Imon and Nishat Nawar Salwa, who comes from the Miss World Bangladesh stage, appear together for the first time in the two lead roles. Ahead of the release, the film’s unit has been actively promoting the film.
Before the release, a press conference was held on Tuesday (September 13) at the VIP projection hall at FDC. The film’s director, producer, actors and crew members were present.
Speaking about his first film, director Saidul Islam Rana said, “Birotto is the story of the many ups and downs in the life of a brave young man. A character is one who creates a new chapter in history. Birotto is an entirely different story, one bound up with deep affection. With this film, Intekhab Dinar makes his big-screen debut as a villain. He is a very powerful actor on the small screen, and his popularity on OTT today is sky-high.”
With Birotto, Nipun Akter is returning to the cinema halls after a long time. For the film, she had to stay for several days in the red-light district at Daulatdia Ghat.
Nipun said, “In Birotto, I will be seen as a sex worker, a woman who dreams of living even after losing everything in life. I believe my character will help many helpless, oppressed girls return to a normal life. It will give them hope, and they will want to live anew.”
Imon said, “I have played many characters in my life, but I have never been so deeply attached to a character before. A strange, good feeling has stayed with me from the shooting until today. Getting a role like this is a great achievement for any actor. The director has worked very hard to make the film.”
Birotto also marks the big-screen debut of Salwa. In the words of the newcomer actress, “In this film, I have played the role of Dr. Dinat. Without saying much about my character, I only want to say that there is a strange affection within the story of this film. Each of us has worked very hard for this film.”
The film is produced by Shukla Banik under the banner of Ping-Pong Entertainment. Besides Imon and Salwa, the film also features Nipun Akter, Intekhab Dinar, Ahsan Habib Nasim, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Kachi Khandakar, Barda Mithu (Monira Akter Mithu), Arman Parvez Murad, Shilpi Sarkar Apu, Sabiha Zaman, Hannan Shelly, Pirzada Shahidul Haroon, Tanvir Rizvi, Jasmin Akter, Sworna, Pranab Ghosh, Priyanti Gomes, Rimu, Jahangir Alam and child artist Muntaha Emelia, among many others.
