Raid 2: Ajay Devgn to face Riteish Deshmukh as the new villain

 

The sequel to the 2018 hit film Raid is all set to go on floors with a fresh cast and a new story. Ajay Devgn will reprise his role as the fearless Income Tax officer who takes on corrupt politicians and businessmen. However, this time he will have a formidable opponent in the form of Riteish Deshmukh, who will play the main antagonist in Raid 2.

Riteish Deshmukh, who is known for his comic roles in films like Housefull and Dhamaal, will showcase his dark side in Raid 2. He has previously played negative roles in films like Ek Villain and Marjaavaan, and impressed the audience with his performance. He will now lock horns with Ajay Devgn in a thrilling cat-and-mouse game that will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats.

The female lead of Raid 2 will be Vaani Kapoor, who has replaced Ileana D’Cruz from the first part. Vaani Kapoor, who was last seen in War, will romance Ajay Devgn in the film. She will also play a crucial role in the plot, as per the sources.

Ajay Devgn announced the start of Raid 2 on his social media accounts on January 8. He shared a picture of the Muhurat puja, which was attended by the director Rajkumar Gupta, the producers Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishna Kumar, and the guest of honor Ravi Teja, who is a popular South Indian actor. Ajay Devgn wrote, “New Case, New Beginning! #Raid2 officially kicked off today, and the energy on set was nothing short of electrifying! Shukriya @raviteja_2628, for gracing the mahurat shot.”

Raid 2 is expected to be a bigger and better version of Raid, which was based on real-life incidents of high-profile raids conducted by the Income Tax department. The film was a critical and commercial success, and earned praise for its gripping story, realistic portrayal, and powerful performances by Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz, and Saurabh Shukla.
