Fighter Movie Review: A thrilling and emotional tribute to the Indian Air Force

FIGHTER is a film that celebrates the courage and valor of the Indian Air Force in the face of adversity. The film is set in 2019, when India and Pakistan are on the brink of war. The Indian Air Force forms a special unit called Air Dragons, led by the charismatic and fearless Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, or Patty (Hrithik Roshan). He is joined by his fellow officers, Squadron Leader Minal Rathore, or Minni (Deepika Padukone), Squadron Leader Sartaj Gill (Karan Singh Grover), Squadron Leader Basheer Khan (Akshay Oberoi), and others. They are supervised by Rakesh Jai Singh, or Rocky (Anil Kapoor), who has a personal grudge against Patty.

The Air Dragons are a close-knit group of friends and warriors, who train hard and have fun together. Patty and Minni also develop a romantic relationship, which adds to the charm of the film. Their lives take a dramatic turn when they are assigned to a mission in Jammu, where they encounter a convoy of CRPF jawans. They exchange pleasantries with them, unaware of the fate that awaits them. Soon, they learn that the CRPF jawans were killed in a brutal terrorist attack at Pulwama. This enrages the nation and the Air Force, who decide to strike back at the enemy. Patty leads the operation to bomb a terrorist camp at Balakot in Pakistan, which is a huge success. However, this also provokes the Pakistani forces and their allies, who launch a counter-attack. Patty and his team have to face the wrath of the enemy, as well as their own inner demons. The film takes the viewers on a roller-coaster ride of action, drama, and emotion, as the Air Dragons fight for their country and their lives.

The film is directed by Siddharth Anand, who has a knack for making stylish and entertaining films. He has also co-written the story with Ramon Chibb, who has penned the screenplay. The film is a well-crafted blend of fiction and reality, as it incorporates the real-life events of the Pulwama attack and the Balakot airstrike, while also adding some fictional elements and twists. The film is not just a mindless action flick, but also a heartfelt tribute to the Indian Air Force and the sacrifices they make. The film also has a strong message of patriotism, unity, and peace, which is relevant in the current times.

The film is also a visual treat, as it showcases some stunning aerial sequences and stunts. The film has been shot with the help of the Indian Air Force, who have provided their expertise and equipment. The film also boasts of some impressive CGI and VFX, which enhance the realism and impact of the scenes. The film has a crisp editing and a racy pace, which keep the audience hooked. The film also has a melodious and catchy music, composed by Vishal-Shekhar. The songs are well-placed and suit the mood of the film. The background score, by John Stewart Eduri, is also effective and elevates the scenes.

The film is also a showcase of the stellar performances by the cast. Hrithik Roshan is the star of the show, as he delivers a power-packed performance as Patty. He is convincing as the brave and skilled officer, who also has a vulnerable and emotional side. He also shares a great chemistry with Deepika Padukone, who plays Minni. She is charming and graceful as the female officer, who also has a strong and independent personality. She also gets to show her action skills in some scenes. Anil Kapoor is superb as Rocky, the strict and stern boss, who also has a hidden agenda. He also has some memorable scenes with Hrithik. Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, and the rest of the supporting cast are also commendable in their roles. Rishabh Ravinder Sawhney is menacing as the villain, Azhar Akhtar, who is the mastermind behind the attacks.
