For the past few days, the political arena has been heated around October 28. There were various apprehensions in people's minds about the direction the situation would take around the counter rally called by Awami League and BNP.


Meanwhile, whether the BNP (Bangladesh Nationalist Party) will be allowed to hold a rally at their preferred location was not confirmed till yesterday evening. However, in the end both BNP and Awami League were allowed to hold rallies at preferred locations on 20 conditions.


In other words, BNP got permission to rally in front of Awami League and Paltan party office at South Gate of Baitul Mukarram. There is a kind of tension surrounding the program of the two teams at a distance of 1.5 km.


There was a fear that there would be less public transport on the road since this morning around this rally. That is true. Around 7am there is very less public transport than on other days.


Meanwhile, around this rally today, the police set up checkpoints at all entrances of Dhakar since yesterday. In the face of obstacles, many BNP leaders and workers continued to gather at their Naya Paltan gathering place from noon yesterday.


The law and order forces have taken the highest alert in the entire country including the capital around the political programs of the two big parties today. Many people have been arrested.


Awami League is saying that BNP and its allies will be present in every ward of the city from morning to prevent possible terror-anarchy around the rally. On the other hand, the BNP is promising that today's rally will be peaceful.
