Uric acid is produced from the foods we consume, which then reaches the kidneys through the bloodstream and is eliminated from the body through urine.


However, consuming foods high in purines can lead to an excess of uric acid. This surplus uric acid cannot be expelled from the body through the kidneys alone, resulting in elevated levels. Uric acid then crystallizes in the joints, causing pain. To combat uric acid, a remedy often recommended is a special concoction that helps reduce its levels. This remedy is believed to be effective in controlling uric acid and is known as a hot weather tonic.

Eating foods that can help reduce uric acid

This tonic not only helps lower uric acid but also aids in managing issues related to fluid retention. However, it's important to mix a bit of salt and lemon juice with the tonic before consumption. Having it on an empty stomach in the morning can be highly beneficial.

In this context, it's advised to completely avoid artificially colored foods, sugar, or corn syrup. Consuming colas, jellies with added color, jams, syrups, processed fruit juices, and preserved fruit cocktails should be avoided. Smoked and canned foods should also be excluded. Pickles, organ meats, and shellfish should be eliminated from the diet. Spinach, beans, lentils, and cauliflower are known to increase uric acid levels.

Certain foods like spinach, other leafy greens, lentils, black gram, mutton, and seafood should not be consumed. Fish, chicken, or eggs can be eaten, but the total daily consumption should not exceed 50 grams.

Drinking 3 to 4 liters of water daily is recommended. To maintain a healthy weight, engage in 150 minutes of exercise per week.
