Kohrra (Season 1) Review: It will not be easy to find out who is responsible even for seasoned viewers of the thriller!

Despite making content like "Aur ek Asur", "Kohrra" is the story of the dark side of humanity behind the investigation! Brought by Clean Slate, the producer of series like 'Paatal Lok', who have quietly given good content one after the other.

The main weapon of the series with a very dark tone is its nuanced writing and great cast! Another hidden gem of Netflix India 'Milestone' movie Savinderpal Vicky and Asur's Barun Sobti in the lead has surprised the cast with great unknown actors. Nikita Grover plays the role of a constable in "Paatal Lok". I was surprised to see the British actress of Gori Maam in Lagaan! Also, I could not recognize someone very old under the turban. Bollywood has created such an impression by portraying the bland stereotype of these turbaned Sikhs, that seeing them on posters does not make you want to check out the content. Who would have thought that "Kohrra" would be such a dark whodunit with, an adult theme inside, and an approach so realistic!? Most series follow the murder mystery template and try to feed the audience with the twists and turns of the investigation. This other series like 'Dahaad' portrays that norm vengeful region and atmosphere. A generational rift has emerged between father and son Love is very complicated, often parents impose their own ideology on their children and fail to understand their needs. NRI boys dream of marrying and settling abroad, drug use among the youth, and all the untold hard truths like the girls flirting behind the scenes are well covered in the screenplay.

There is nothing to show for the sake of shock, yet Indian family audiences could easily demand an 18+ warning for the beating and some sexual scenes.

The investigation is not given a cinematic color in the screenplay, a realistic slow-burn approach is kept, and it is not like the police are going everywhere to catch the accused if they get a clue. Like Dahar, the regional police force here is basically a mixture of good and bad people. Everyone has their own stories, secrets, and tragic pasts.

Because the scope is less, you can easily binge, even for seasoned viewers of whodunit thrillers, it will not be easy to find out who is responsible, many possible things come to mind, and one will be found. How and why - that's why "Kohrra" must be watched till the end! Best Indian crime series I have seen in 2023 after Dahaad! Must watch Savinderpal Vicky's 'Milestone'! Great actor!
