Complaint against Sultan's Dain is not found: Directorate of Consumer Affairs

The allegation of Sultan's Dain use of goat meat instead of other animals has not been proven. The establishment may be exempted from allegations of consumption of meat from other animals as the allegations are not proven beyond doubt.

This information was given in a press conference regarding the investigation of Sultan's Dain in the conference room of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection on Monday.

The restaurant conducted an on-site investigation and reviewed the oral and written statements of the accused, Director General of Consumer Affairs A.H.M. Shafiquzzaman said in a written statement, Sultan's Dain collects Goat meat through 'Ma Baba Doa Gost Bitan, Kaptan Bazar'. Representatives of the accused companies are sometimes present during the goat slaughtering in the Kaptan market. After slaughtering the goat, the owner of the shop reaches the meat charging establishment on his own responsibility.

On March 9, the manager of the accused establishment verbally informed us about the collection of 150 kg of goat meat. But after slaughtering the Goat the Goat shopkeeper informs about the delivery of 125 kg Goat to Sultan's Dain. Regarding the suspected lean bones, the accused said that they used 7 to 9 kg of beef. Due to their small size, these bones are thin.

Meanwhile, the mobile number (01723309902) from which the complaint was made to the accused organization was also found to be closed.

Therefore, as the use of meat from animals other than Goat is not proven beyond doubt, the accused organization Sultan's Dain can be exempted from the charge of using meat from other animals, said the Director General of Consumers.
